Sciath na Scol

As you know Clonpriest N.S has a long and proud tradition of Sciath na Scol and Gaelic games.
For many of the children it is something they look forward to from an early age. Years of practicing and honing skills are geared towards Sciath na Scol participation. It helps foster school spirit and a sense of pride in the local community. Both teacher and student can be seen in a different, positive non academic light. Perhaps most importantly however… it is fun.
For the boys and girls of 6th class we know not being able to participate in Sciath na Scol hurling and camogie has been a big disappointment. Unfortunately as a school we cannot replicate the lost trainings and the matches, the bus journeys and the excitement. But what we can do is celebrate what Sciath na Scol means to us and to everybody in the local school community. Over the next 2 weeks that is precisely what we hope to do. A menu of events and activities have been planned for Junior Infants up to 6th. From video challenges by staff and GAA stars to dress up days and great competitions, we hope that everybody gets involved and enjoys our celebration of Sciath na Scol in our school.
