I’d like to give you all a very warm welcome to Clonpriest N.S.
Primary school is a very exciting and special time for a child. We are very proud of the educational journey we provide for our pupils and always try to provide the highest standards of learning experiences, activities and events to enable our pupils achieve their potential.
In Clonpriest, we are fortunate to be able to provide spacious classrooms and excellent outdoor areas to allow each child the best environment to learn and develop. We have a dedicated and hardworking staff who are committed to making each child’s educational experience a very positive and successful one. Our pupils receive a broad and diverse education in the subjects of the Primary School Curriculum. There are also many opportunities to develop individual talents – on our GAA teams or on quiz teams, as a musician or as a singer, taking part in Science Week events or in our Green-School’s activities, as debaters or as actors – there are lots of opportunities for each child to develop their talents, grow in confidence and to experience success.
It is always important to remember the vital role that parents and the local community play in a child’s education. We always try to work with parents to ensure their child’s abilities come to the fore and any difficulties are identified and addressed as early as possible. We are proud of our location in the heart of Gortroe and we engage with our local surroundings in a variety of ways – trips to Pilmore beach, visits to the local nursing home, close relationship with Gortroe Montessori Preschool and strong links with the St. Ita’s G.A.A. club.
We as a school staff, and I as Principal, are committed to ensuring that each child’s journey in our school is filled with learning, development and memorable experiences.
Le gach dea-ghuí,
James Leahy.
